For those of you who have never been,
Sandia Peak Ski Area is a must-go winter adventure. Just the trip up to the ski area is a wonderful drive, and the views once you get there are just breathtaking. The ski area does an admirable job of keeping the slopes well-groomed in our more temperate climate (so, glorious sunshine with your snow!), and there's a good selection of runs to choose from. The cafe has great hot chocolate, and tasty snacks for the hard-working skiers and boarders. On the way home, turn left and head to the top of the mountain for the completely gorgeous display of Albuquerue city lights - or even take a peek over at Santa Fe. You can see it from the peak as well. Stop in Cedar Crest for a bite to eat on your way back into town and, all-in-all, it's an excellent day.
